Welcome to the Embassy of the Republic of Malawi Immigration and Consular Services.
We provide information and assistance to Malawi Citizens in the State of Kuwait and all countries of concurrent accreditation namely; Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, Pakistan, Iraq and Yemen. We offer passport application (Note passports are processed in Malawi), Citizenship services, Emergency Travel Documents, Police Clearance (processed in Malawi) and apostille (legalisation or attestation of documents: birth, marriage and death certificates.)
Due to high volume of application and delays, the Embassy recommends that all applicants for passport services which are processed in Malawi, do so at least 180 days before expiry of their visas or need for a new document to avoid inconveniences. Those travelling for emergency purposes can do so using EMERGENCY TRAVEL DOCUMENT to Malawi only.
MALAWI PASSPORT
PASSPORT REQUIREMENTS:
- All Applicants should book an appointment in advance for all passport processes. They will be required to come in person to process once the appointment is granted.
- Passports are processed from Sunday to Thursday and appointments should be made in advance before visiting the Embassy.
Passport renewal for Adults and Children over 10 years :
- Old passport
- Two passport photos with clear white back ground (size 4.5 x3.5 cm)
- Marriage/divorce/death certificates for married women who want to change the names
- Birth certificate and national identity card for those born outside Malawi
- Fee: USD 85 (Cash only)
Lost Passport replacement for Adults and Children over 10 years
- Police report
- Two passport size photos with clear white background
- Copies of the lost passport or previous passports
- Fee: USD 90 (cash only)
Lost Passport replacement for minors below 10 years
- Two passport size photos with clear white background
- Police report
- Copies of lost passport or previous passports
- Fee: USD 77 (cash only)

REPATRIATION OF REMAINS
The Embassy does not provide any financial support to repatriate remains of any deceased person. The Embassy only provides documentation to those that have no proper documentation.

- Covering letter
- Copy of death certificate
- Copy of passport or birth certificate
renunciation of citizenship
- Covering letter
